Well, it was more of a slither, really !

I have been summoning up all my courage to do some jumping with the Moose (I never learned to jump, but she loves it). We are talking teeny 18-inch x-poles, nothing particularly exciting, but she clears them with a good foot and a bit to spare *yikes*. For someone like me who's never jumped anything but a cavaletti 25 years ago, its exciting and terrifying in the same measure....

Anyway, i popped over the x-pole a couple of times this morning, feeling my heart rate go up each time...i am such a wuss. On the last time round, i did something hopelessly wrong, and ended up round her neck, hanging on for grim life - and then my stirrup came off the saddle ! So i ended up doing a very undigniofied slither off her neck, onto the ground, while she looked at me in some surprise !

So, I didn't die, but I definitely DO need lessons.

Lol hope you are ok, I fell off last night- have a lovely scar on my elbow and a sore butt to prove it! God damn this hard ground!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one in the wars, My beastie chucked me off the day before my birthday, I went out Sat night black and blue courtesty of the road!!!

Well done for getting brave and jumping, if only the stirrup hadn't let you down!!

Glad you weren't badly hurt though

I was quite glad there was no-one there - you would have died laughing, honestly. You know how good she is, when she puts her head up to try and push you back into the saddle- she did that and slowed right down and i STILL went off the side !

I blame it entirely on the stirrup. If it hadn't come off the bar, I'd have stayed on.
