Well we got there, walked the course and for only a 2'9 it was VERY technical - thoase who have been there will know its a very well built and up to height course!
Anyway, sparky being sparky did an okay dressage - 34.42 - just a bit better than average - woooop we got an 8 for our walk!! hehe (better than last time getting 5's and 6's !!

Anyway, most scores were 7s so im chuffed

Then sjing - at the 2'9 ODE's i have dont the best sjing is one down and one stop...
well we wnt clear!!!
The sjing wasnt very spooky or up to height but i was still chuffed to go clear!!
Then xc. was very nervous as there is a massive steep hill at the very start. Sparky is THAT fit as he had 2/3 weeks off about a month ago so was under srtict instructions to retire when he started to get tired and less responsive. He poulled me all the way round!!
We jumped 2 learner fences where there was a big log with a large drop the other side so i took the L fence, then i took the L fence at the corner which was rediculous to put in a 2'9 - something you would see in a PN course - was bigger thn 3' i would say. and then after the water about 3 canter strides out there was a big chest with a hole in at which we just ground to a halt. Jumped it 2nd tiome no prob.

So i am CHUFFED! last tiem i went xc we had 3 stops so woooooop
Sorry to bore you - i have bought 2 pics which i will scan and put in the PG soon
Thankies for reading

well doen ellie, how did issy do?
A bit like summerhouse in the fact that there is always smaller than 2"9 or 2"9 fences as an alternative you get penalties for learners dont you?

yup - but most people took them so didnt make that much diffrence. Issy got a dressage of 43.3 or something, 1 down sjing and 2 stops xc and 3 learners

Yup - vut there was only 4 learner fences at the really technical things

no she wasnt
It is the other side of hartpury
and i know - but loads of poeple had taken L fences and the average penalties for xc was about 55/60 so wasnt bad!! was chuffed really. Im not sure if it was 8th but i was JUST out of the placings ggrrr - one of the best who didnt get a DC - only 7 DC's in my section - out of over 25!

I/cant/beleive/you/have/said/it/was/tecnical/in/my/opinion/it/was/not/very/tecniccal/at/all./yes/there/were/a/few/questions/and/it/was/up/2/height/but/the/corner/fence/was/hardly/a/corner/andnotperticaly/big!!i/was/competing/my/young/inexperenced/horse/in/the/2ft9/and/he/coped/fine/and/jumped/clear!

you must have been placed! well done!!
Well i was on a 13.3 and IM not very experienced - was his 6th time xc and IMO it was - bearing in mind i compete at 2'6 2'9 - im no eventer yet!

i am not saying it wasnt big and over sized but it is suprising how many people i have seen who have sed omg that is far too big for 3 foot or watever and actually it is just full up...this is caused by some courses being undersized and also people over exadgerating...btw this is a completely random comment and nothing to do with this ode just to do with occasions where i have come across similar things

I know what you mean, but when you are jumping around these trappy things and you come to something full up, and yes, i would say it is technical for a 2'9 but there we are.
And yes there were i think 7 DC's as eveyine apart from one with a DC got placed
