Gadget to avoid dropping phone

Went for a pre-work hack this morning, as it wasnt raining!! On our route we often see deer and today was no exception, we got really close and the beautiful creature was just watching us approach, so I decided to take a photo with my phone as I often do but today the deer ran off and I dropped my phone in a huge puddle -my ask has anyone found a gadget that works that you can attach to yourself or saddle when using your phone, so we dont drop it??? Definitely attach to the rider not horse!
If you come unstuck it’s no use the horse having the phone and not the rider in the ditch!
Horses are rubbish at calling for help

Can you take a picture while its still in the case and attached to the strap??

I just have a decent shockproof waterproof case and a loop attached to that. I do drop it very occasionally and it survives. Not sure I want it tied to anything / clipped to anything.

Yes. The camera bit isn’t covered. Mine stays in the case all the time and I just attach the strap when I haven’t got any pockets. The strap is long and adjustable.

On site we have lanyards called tethers. It could be life changing or kill someone if a phone fell out of someone's pocket whilst working at height. A phone doesn't have to land on someone's head to kill them, a strike on the chest or back of the shoulders could kill them.
We also have tethers which clip hard hats onto collars, again for the same reason.

All tools have to be tethered to the operatives belt too when working from height.
