GAH!!!! I can never order a blanket/rug and manage to get it to fit!

I am a hopeless cause at getting blankets/sheets to fit my animals

I even measure and then go a bit bigger and they are still always too small

And because I am too lazy to send them back I always wind up nearly giving them away

I hope the farrier coming today wants my ponies brand new blanket in exchange for his work on the horses

I am planning on trying to pawn it off on him because he has so many ponies of various sizes it will surely fit one

Nothing wrong with trying to barter?


Wish me luck he takes the bait and I do not have to send this one back

what size do you get? roughly how big are your ponies/horses? measurements are different in us aren't they?

Well in this case it was for my Shetland. I measured him across at 48 inches and bought a 50 inch just to be safe. It was WAY too small.

I measure from centre of chest to just past end of bum.

It's fine on Millie & Merlin but never works on Dom.

I think some horses change size on a whim.

Anyhoo - did it work? Have you fobbed off a farrier with fancies (well a rug anyway!

Well that is how I measure too and it never appears to work.

He did not go for the blanket

He just wanted the money (go figure?)

better luck next time. I have two more people to try it on

Honestly, you offer him a brand new blanket and he wants money??! No pleasing some people.

D'you think maybe some horses (your shetland, my cob etc) expand and shrink with the weather perhaps?

Maybe it's them at fault rather than our measuring?

I think Fancy is always just expanded

Now I am worrying the the one I ordered for Betty will be too small too

She is short but really wide as well
