As most of you know we have 2 lurchers.
This morning some stranger came up to us and said 'are those the cat killers!' pointing to our dogs.
We politely said no and walked on.

Then this afternoon a person staying at the caravan site behind my field told us a cat had been killed yesterday by 2 lurchers but she knows it wasn't ours as she saw it happen. She said the lurchers came from my village.
There are 2 other families in the village that have 2 lurchers so it could be either family.
But to be branded cat killers by a complete stranger when we weren't even in the county, we were in London yesterday, is not nice.

Never nice when a possibly much loved pet is killed in such a way. Unfortunately that is in the nature of a lurcher type dog. Agree with you though just because you have similar type dogs you should not be tarred with the same brush.

A classic case of how ignorant people are where dogs are concerned

I was originally going to say lurchers, but then people make stupid assumptions about ANY breed it seems to me

I did LMAO when people used to assume my greyhounds were vicious because I muzzled them when I walked them in a popular area... yeah right, they savaged babies and small children regularly....NOT

i have a staffy x - people can really upset me when they start on about "her type" and "dangerous dogs" esp. the ones who say it just loud enough for us to hear but are not actually talking to us - makes me mad as hell

I guess it's a natural assumption if the 2 offending lurchers are local too but it's never nice to have the finger pointed when you're dogs are innocent, which mine always are
