At the moment I've got a very knackered old pair of Dublin jodhpur boots and cheapy suede chaps that I ride in, but since I'll hopefully be doing some competing this spring and summer I've been saving for a bit of an upgrade! From what I've seen Tredstep Pro G2 chaps and Ariat Concords are well received, wondering if anyone could back that up for me? I reckon I'd get some boots of the same brand to complete the illusion of long boots! The Ariat Devon pro boots are pricey but if they last then I'd rather get those than keep forking out for sub par boots.
Thanks!

I have ariat concords and they are just lovely. Nice soft grain leather and thick. I got them off equestrian clearance for 35 pounds. Chaps are normally too short for me so the range of sizes is great. I just have some cheap synthetic boots for now that don't match at all but are quite nice and cost a tenner :-)

The concord are really dark if you go for brown, so you'll want a darker chocolate colour boot. Or you could go for black, much easier :-)

Trouble with the texture and grain of the leather is it'd be hard to find boots that match reeeally well.

I have Ariat Heritage II boots. I don't know whether they still make them, I've had mine years. And they're still great! Some scuffed ares now on the leather that don't polish out, mainly on the toe and where the chaps have rubbed, but they are sound apart from that.

I do make a point of trying to wear my Ariats on the horse though and not for yard jobs, as I've known plenty of people wear them out doing that and it's not what they're for!

When I worked at a saddlery Treadstep boots and gaitors were highly regarded and I did try some on and they were lovely and soft!

One other thing to say about Ariat, they do half sizes which means you can get some that really do fit if, like me, you're between sizes.
