I just bought one of these rugs afer wanting one for a couple of years, I don't like the fit of shires, they do the maxiflo one I think its called and it seemed too heavy. Anyway got the Gallop one and is lovely, just the job for our summers.

So if anyone else is contemplating getting one I'd say go for it, it fits really nicely

Oh that's good to know, I've been tempted by something along these lines for ages, and I quite like the gallop rugs, they seem to fit my horse reasonably well
Thanks :-)

Where did you buy yours from? I've had one for two seasons now and I love it it's lasted pretty well but I might need a new one for next year, but I can't seem to find them anywhere!

Hiya, I found it on ebay it was one of 2 for sale from the same person, if you're lucky there might be one left it was 6'6, my horse usually takes 6'3 but as it was a light weight rug I thought it would be ok which it is. I've been thinking of getting one for few years now, but where I was going to get it from sold out :-( they charged 38.99 free delivery, was gutted. Ended up paying £46 plus postage, but is was what I really wanted and I'm so glad I did it. When I get home tonight I'll post the link, I can't get access to ebay in work

I have just got a Bucas one and happy with that so far but don't think it has rained since I got it so that will be the test.

i have a gallop half and half rug. I really like it although one of the leg straps ripped off the material after just a week leaving a whole in the fabric. I complained to the seller but they werent interested :(

I just use a fillet string now and do still like the rug. Would like them to make one without a neck rug one too as I would buy one!

I have one too and love it but like kezz86 can't find one anywhere! If anyone knows where I can pick up a 6'6" would be grateful if you could reply .....

I've only had poor experiences with Gallop rugs personally. The linings have always ripped quickly, rugs move and rub, and the waterproofing didn't last a winter with mine.

Gallop rugs are cheap and you get what you pay for bit like Rhinegold, their fly rugs let me down badly last year so im sticking with Shires, although my sister had a Sheldon one and swears by it.
