N&F
We had a loan horse arrive with one once. Hubby said it was the most uncomfortable saddle he had ever sat in. The horse obviously found it uncomfortable too as every time hubby moved position in the saddle the horse would shoot forward. Once the saddle was replaced the horse was fine.
I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. A youngsters back is far too precious to have a saddle of such poor quality.
Have a saddle fitter out and try a few good quality synthetics. You can always then buy off eBay knowing what fits (adjustment may be needed). A good quality 2nd hand synthetic can be bought for as little as £70-£80.
