I want a 4’9 not too expensive turnout.
Light weight, combo or removable neck.
Mainly as a second as pony has an Amigo bravo which I use a lot.
I’d really prefer 1200d but it seems a hard size to find and figured as it’s a spare that a 600 might do.
How do they fit size wise?
Or does anyone have another brand that does smaller sizes?
I can get the gallop for £45 or under including postage

I love my Gallop Ponie rugs. I have them in 0g, 100g and 200g for my girls who are 4’9” and 5’. They are such excellent value for money and seem to fit most ponies. Mine are both quite narrow on the chest and their Amigos don’t fit as well.

Interesting, mines narrow too. It was a ponie one I’ve seen.
So do you buy their regular size?

I have got a gallop lightweight turnout, no neck. It's 5' and has been patched a few times but is in good condition. Pony is also 5' but gallop sizes seem to come up small on her. £7 plus postage.

I've got a gallop 50g turnout, had it a few years now, never washed apart from a hose down once or twice and it has never leaked once even in torrential downpours. The pony is getting older though and has got more narrow round his chest and shoulders and the rug is now a bit big in that area but still fits ok but slides back a bit. I might try the ponies ones and see if that will fit better.

I just ordered one! I need the neck because he’s a bit sweet itchy so needs cover as much as possible, thank you though.
He has an apples and mints on the way, to wear with his sparkly shoes. 🙄

I use gallop full neck, no fill on my sweet itch one, fits her much better than most fly rugs which just slide back
I also think the neck is quite roomy, which you don't always get with cheaper rugs

If the neck comes with 3 clips that clip to the rug you may have the same problem I did. The neck falls forward at the base and leaves a fair chunk of horses neck exposed. I've just had velcro added to mine. Other than that great rugs!

I have 50g gallop Trojan’s and they are fantastic. Great for downpours that would soak through a rain sheet but when it’s too warm for anything more.
I have just bought one of these for my ID 36.99 including postage, it's fits her well and she's had it on in the torrential rain we've been having so I'm pleased with it so far & have just ordered another for my retired horse if he needs it in the winter.

I have 0g, 50g, 100g, and 250g.

I have a detachable neck for the 250gm. There was a bit of a gap so I just tied a knot in each elastic strap to shorten it.

I think it's the 100gm that got ripped but that's due to the 🤬🤬🤬 horses of mums!

I think they must be 2 or 3yrs old now and they're doing well. I've found thar the clips are quite cheap and had the tongues of a few snap. I just bought a pack of replacement clips and it still works out as a cheap rug!
