So.... Tap took off with me in the middle of field last week. Was flat out, head down with no control and no brakes. I'm not the most experienced or knowledgeable rider but even I know its not good for an ex racer to bolt through a field at (almost) full pelt (yes, I don't believe he was going his fastest!!)
I feel terrible as I couldn't control/stop him and had to pretty much tag along for the rollercoater until the end of the field. In retrospect, could've prevented it, but he tripped going into the field so I let the reins fall forward for his head, before I could gather myself up he was already at a progressivley quickening canter.
Now Tap is a 16.3, extremely strong TB.
I will be ready for him next time and will prevent it, just sooooo damn angry at myself!!! It hasn't done him any good, he's gone back to his jiggy, joggy excitable racey days ways!! Back to sqaure one....
