Hi all,
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop my horse galloping back to the corner of my outdoor arena. She hasn’t been doing in very long but the past couple of weeks every time I ride In the arena, even if I’m just walking round, she will tuck her head in and bolt to the corner. Being a mare, I think she’s noticed the gelding in the field visible from the corner but this never used to be a problem in the year of using this arena.
Anyone else had troubles with this?
many suggestions to get her detached from that corner?

I would spend a few sessions schooling her in tight circles and really working her in that corner. really make her work and do it repeatedly a few days in a row or however long needed until she associates that corner with hard work.

OP, Warwick Schiller does some very good you tube videos about arena work when a horse is napping to the gate etc, the same principles would work with your horse’s “favourite” corner, worth watching to give you some pointers to work on.
