In the pursuit of trying to get my chap fit, I wondered if anyone knew of anywhere in the midlands/Shropshire area where I could hire gallops, or how I could go about finding some?
Alternatively, if anyone knows anywhere good for long hacking in the area that might have a suitable galloping spots? I sometimes go hacking around Cannock Chase, but have been told recently that holes are starting to appear in the ground, which doesn't sound too good!

Have you tried UK chaser courses website, lots of courses all over UK and most have an option to go round the jumps!

there are good gallops at a place just off the A5 near Weston Park, which i used to use. belong to a p-2-p trainer, very nice lady. gallops are woodchip, go along the side of a field and uphill alongside the woods. pm me if you want me to try to dig out her phone number.
otherwise, i know the people who farm Teddesley Park, and they have a fun ride and xc ride around there, lots of places to gallop.

Henry Daly is in Shropshire - nr Ludlow. - There are also some gallops near Bridgnorth, Think they must be Willie Jenks by process of elimination, Shropshire is about the best place to produce a fit horse - there are fabulous hills virtually everywhere. the Jack Mytton (sp?) way is v popular, a friend does lots of fitness work there with her Pointers, and takes them to Mortimer Forest (mainly where I go too) as well as Bircher Common. I used to use gallops, but found a handful of our string then became a nightmare once they knew where they were headed...
