I want to buy a galvanised feed bin but don't know what size I'm going to need. I'm looking at storing 2 sacks of chaff, 1 sack of nuts and one sack of speedibeet, but I want to keep them in their sacks, not tip them directly into the bin. Space will be a bit of an issue so I don't want to buy a bigger bin if I can help it.

Does anyone use one of these?

Would this be big enough?

I doubt it. I know it says that you can store 4/5 sacks of feed. That's fine for storage but if you're using each feed every day rather than storing surplus sacks then you are going to have to move sacks around every time. I would expect to fit one bag of chaff in each compartment.

I have one of those, the exact same size.. they are fantastic, but it would be a squeeze to get in two bags of chaff plus other bags..

You can fit one bag of chaff into each side, and then smaller feed bags sit on top. usability wise it's a pain as you have to lift out the smaller bags to get to the chaff...
you would be better off getting the larger version with more compartments. I ended up using and old wheelie bin to store my chaff bags and just using the bin for feed bags.

they are great bins though and I love mine.

We got a few chest freezers off Freecycle and use them for storing feed. Also use them to store rugs which seems to work well. Got given one which had defrosted fish in the bottom though, so I'd check inside before you put them in your car ?

That’s where I got mine from. It’s a bit embarrassing when the person giving it says how well it works and you don’t like to tell them it’s never going to be plugged in.
