Just wanted to let everyone know / warn them that these fairs are imho a waste of money. They're just a money-maker for the organiser and offer poor value.

We went to the Sussex one today, it cost £30 for 2 adults and 2 little children (aged 4) and another £1 if you wanted to pay by card.

The stands are ok - the usual ones you find at most country fairs (often free entry or much cheaper).

Spend your money on going to something like Hickstead where for the same amount you also get to see top class showjumping/dressage; plus all the usual 'country' stands.

I'm sure the stands appeal to a lot of people- we have been doing the CLA gamefair as a tradestand holder for over 10years and make a huge profit there- perhaps the trade stands just wern't to your taste.

That's a shame - I sometimes think that these fairs have a cheek charging huge entry fees particularly when they charge the stallholders huge amounts too. Fair enough if it's value for money but if it's not then something needs to change....

Exactly Scotsmare, I enjoy these fairs - we usually go to the smaller Ardingly ones; but the one today was a rip-off and I don't want other people to waste their money and of course, one bad fair puts people off going to other ones which is a shame.
