BEST form of it, - ever - is Global Herbs. It has all the parts of the bulb as often these get left out and it lasts a lifetime!! It costs me £5.75 and i feed it with a 25ml scoop in each feed for flies, but its good for respiration i heard too, and also i think their coat .
I go with Global Herbs, I use it all year round for good coat condition, flies and respiration. Be warned though, never use it on foals or horses and ponies who have very sensitive digestion.
No I no longer feed garlic
Some studies have shown that garlic can damage microflora in the gut of sensitive horses and actually make skin conditions worse.
I always used to feed garlic, can't remember why i stopped? anyway have just started feeding it again but i now have 2 horses and the bag seems to have gone down rather quickly, hence i was thinking about a large quantity of maybe eBay or somewhere?
p.s. Nag number 1 def doesn't have sensitive guts, he broke a leadrope last week in order to reach the bin and ate all the moudly carrots in it and apparently had no ill effects!!!!
somewhere do the biggest barrels of the stuff, i think it may be 60kg im not sure ..and it lasts for about 6-8 months ! Stays in seemingly good condition too. Cant for the life of me remember the name / where its from though ..but definitly keep your eyes out

This is the reason I stopped feeding it to mine, especially to one who has allergies and therefore already has super sensitive skin!
I always used to feed garlic granules to all our horses for respiration & fly prevention but now have stopped using it on one as he suffers with a sensitive digestion. It can affect horses the same way it can affect humans - like onions! You can buy granules in big tubs from places like Countrywide.
