Young sports horse type mare, not thriving as much as I would like , hope "Dr Green" will soon help.
Audible noise, like passing wind, (sorry to be indelicate)
Been at present home only a few months.
Suggestions?

Thank you Micky, 88 reads and only one reply! Its a conundrum all right.
Funnily enough, she has your remedy each day,
am now thinking charcoal, and have started Kossolian blood salts, as they contain ash.

JC, sometimes it's just a matter of working out what's normal gut sounds for your horse, my mare was like this and I owned her for 11 years, without a days worry until it was time for her to be PTS. I had one vet who commented that if he didn't know her and what she was like he'd swear it was colic, it was that noisey but as it was it was just her. The best you can do is something like yoghurt or Yea sacc and a high fibre, low sugar and low starch diet. However, if you are really concerned do get your vet as it's always good to have them cast an eye just incase and discuss the issue with them as excess acid can cause ulcers. The key thing is to make sure she always has something in her tummy to soak it up, so feed her so much hay that she always has some left over

charcoal is worth a try. I have 2 on it and it has really made a difference

I had a TV very similar always worried about gastric ulcers or colic... Tried global herbs black salt. 3G a day 72hours later all was quite and she was more passing wind .FART MONSTER! Worth a try on ply £6-7 a tub lasts months :) if not another global herbs restore seems to detox the system and start again :) good luck

Thanks everyone, todays problem is a hoof abcess,
will consider Black salt, and restore.
Nice to know I am not alone!
