my pony has just been diagnosed with gastric ulcers after being endoscoped, the prognosis is good - treat with gastroguard for 28 days. the vets have recommended 24 hr turnout but i am worried as he has had lamintis in the past. i'm finding balancing the two quite hard as i want to ensure he is ulcer free but dont want to bring on an attack of laminitis. has any one on here had experience of both? can you give me any advice on management for both?
i currently use approved food from the lamintis trust and equine sensitive nuggets as well as electric fencing paddocks- grass is pretty non existant so he has hay during the day in the field.
