Gastric Ulcers - Can I Feed A Balancer?

My mare has been diagnosed with gastric ulcers and is on Omeprazole for 28 days. She has also just started living out 24hrs with a friend. My question is - can I still feed a balancer? I understand that she is best on grass, hay and unmollassed alfalfa which she is on now. I used to feed Dodson and Horrell Ultimate Balancer but I am not sure if this will aggravate things. Anyone got any advice? She is a dressage horse in normal training work.
 
According to my vet a balancer isn't best for ulcers but mind currently needs one, just throw in some Bicarbonate of soda and it should naturalise the acid.
Does your horse need a balancer or would a vit and min supplement give him what he needs?
 
I am not sure if I really do need a balancer to be honest - you just think that a horse in medium work will need some protein added to the diet.

Does your local feed store have an independent nutritionist who could help?
Instead of a balancer saracens do a complete mix called releve which is perfect for ulcer prone horses.
 
I don't think it'll be the feed for her sorry. Mine is ISH but like a TB to feed so for the first time in horse ownership I'm not watching the calories!!
For free advice I'm sure you could ring my local store, wadswick, and speak to their Nutritionist for some advice.
