Some people have mentioned that vets take back unused medication, mine won't though :( I have an unopened box of Gastogard which will now be wasted. There was a post on here the other day/last week about giving unused medication to a charity? Will they take it or what are other options?

Thanks in advance x Seems such a waste. My vets seem keen to over prescribe to make up the funds! x

Mine did this with founderguard £ 350 wasted

With Gastroguard personally I would keep it if it has a long shelf life.

If not yes give to charity, just email the ones and ask them.

SPANA
Gambia Horse and donkey

would be my prefered choices.

Keep it! If you ever can't avoid putting the horse on NSAIDs, or you need to put it through some stress such as moving or staying away, you can put the horse on a preventative dose to stop the ulcers coming back. We manage an ulcer prone horse rather than cure them, it seems, so definitely worth keeping!
