Gastroguard - how much to expect to pay?

My friends horse had been perscribed a course of gastro guard after going to the vets today. She did not ask how much it would be - but I guessed at around £380 quid for a course - 2 x boxs of 7 - anyone else had a course recently and how much did it cost you and what doseage did you have ?

Hi there, just had this - two boxes of 7 cost £495. Your insurance won't cover it either if it's used as a 'preventative' measure :-(

Usually approx £30 per tube. Normal dose is one tube per day.

My mare was on it for six weeks eek at £27/tube, one tube a day, so over £1100. Luckily the insurance were paying.

My boy had an initial dose of 3/4 tube per day for 4 weeks then a maintenance dose of 1/4 tube per day (14.1 pony) each box of 7 tubes cost me £230 + vat I was very lucky as the insurance paid for this and further tubes required as an ongoing claim
