have been thinking of having a go at this in september, never done one before, am established at novice level, just un sure of how big the show jumping will be, does anyone know? the xc runs over the same novice course there so thats fine. also do you xc first then sj after? and most importantly can you wear top hat and tails for the dressage? been dying to look really posh!!

The show-jumping will be 110, and at Novice they are allowd to build two fences at 115 so you will have jumped bigger already

! Yes, you can wear top hat and tails, but the rules were changed las tyear to say you can't wear a double bridle at 1* level. The cross-country will be longer than your average Novice and probably a bit more technical - this particular class is being used as a selection trial for the World Championships for 6 yo's, so the water questions will probably be tougher than most Novices to mirror those found on the continent. 6 yo's will be given priority for entries. Hope that helps! I do think this highlights a demand for CIC*'s in this country that BE is not acknowledging....
