So so glad I picked Saturday to go to Gatcombe this year. Had a great day supping vino and watching people far braver than me jumping their wonderful horses over big jumps. The only thing that concerned me slightly was the dreadful baggy bums of some of the male competitors breeches as they strolled around the shopping village. It reminded me of a cartoon from my childhood called something like "baggy pants and the nitwits".http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwWUtoLnUjo

What a great cartoon!! Baggy arses aren't great, but I'd take them any day over budgie smugglers! That said, my eventer pin up is Mr F-P, being such a slim chap I think baggy is the only size his breeches are going to come in!

Ah Dear Mr. F-P. What a legend! It seemed to be the more junior riders at Gatcombe that favoured the saggy arse. Maybe it's the equestrian version of the falling down trouser look you see on the street these days? I think Mr.T (as in Townend not A-Team) has the perfect answer n'est-ce pas?

Urgh! Ollie T so doesn't do it for me I'm afraid! Looks quite the pie eater compared to his more steamlined compatriots - and whose socks did he pinch for that photo shoot, no wonder he looks so smug!! (but then I am a rather a lanky fan so should just hang my head in shame anyway!!).

Loose maybe, but saggy? some of the ones I saw had baggy breeches where the bums hung down to their knees. It was as though MC hammer had decided to take up riding (oops showing my age there). I won't put you on the COBBB mailing list then Kenzo!

lol...my version pf saggy is 'loose' as in not clingy :D I didn't mean MC hammer stylee, thankfully I've not had the pleasure of seeing anyone with such baggy breaches apart from an old black and white photo of my mother...when the real mc hammer type jods were in.

Am with kenzo too I'm afraid! Not keep on saggy, but would far rather see the outline of a nice firm bum cheek under looser fabric, rather than seeing the brand/design/colour of pants under tight breeches, urgh!!!

Oops. I'll come up with an acceptable depth of fabric acceptable under COBBB guidelines. I'm not campaigning for tight "centre parting" breeches, I'm just against the MC Hammers!
