Gatehouse/Charles Owen hats?

After treating myself to a navy Tagg jacket, I now want a nice hat to go with it! I can't find any Gatehouse stockists near me, so I would have to mail order one. I'm just worried it won't fit, as my head is a funny shape!

I've got a harry hall elite which is a perfect fit, and charles owen seems to fit ok. Champion and Dublin are giant headache inducing no-nos!

I will go for the XP if the Gatehouse doesn't fit, but I thought it was a bit bulky to be my first choice. So is the Gatehouse really that much slimmer or are all velvet hats horrible!

Please help, I've been looking for a velvet hat with a leather harness for ages and trying to find one that fits and looks nice is impossible!

If all else fails I'd be open to non-leather harness hats - I'm getting desperate!!

I have a Charles Owen SJ XP and really like it. I am ultra fussy and was searching for ages for a hat that looked more like a beagler but had the safety standards fo RC!

I've got a Charles Owen SJ XP too and I love it. Beware of sizing though if you are getting it mail order, make sure you try on one somewhere else first. I didn't to start with just got the same size as my skull cap which is a Champion and it was too small - gave me a headache! I had to get a size larger.

Sounds exactly like what I am looking for lec!! I am fussy about everything, can't find a stock pin at the moment that doesn't look like it cost 5p and was made in china! Grr, but that's another story!

Perhaps I will see if I can try a Gatehouse first, but I will def go back to the XP if I can't find one.

I have a SJ XP too and love it, plus I notice you are in the north west, we have some lovely stock pins from Germany, my favourite being the ones that are Gold or Silver mini Pelhams with a tiny curb chain attatched, they're about £12. Where abouts in the NW are you? Our shop is in Chorley.
