Has anyone else had the same problem? I seem to be constantly having to tighten the chin strap on my Gatehouse HS1 as often as every time I ride and it's not even by a small amount either. Is this normal for these hats or do I have a duff one?

Thinking of sewing it in place, can anyone think of any obvious reasons I havn't thought of where this would be a bad plan?

Yes mine does exactly the same! I tighten it every time I put it on, hadn't really thought about it until you've said! Luckily I'm a bit of a hat freak so always do it out of habit anyway!

Thanks for your reply. I know what you mean, it was only when I remembered I never had to do it with my old hats as the straps stayed put I thought it might not be right!

Mine stays put for the most, but I have a chin strap cover over mine (came off my gpa years ago) which gives it a little padding and holds it fairly still

I have one of these too, it came with the hat, but it still slips. I might give them a ring and see what they say about it

I've had this problem with a variety of makes and models of hat. I've found the best way to secure the strap at the correct length is to use electrical tape wrapped round the strap just below the clasp.
