Gatehouse HS1 hat sizing issues. help please!?

Has anyone else experienced problems with sizes?

I'm normally a size 2/57 and i tried one for size at a local tack shop and it fitted lovely, (this one was the old edition in the green carrying case)
I then ordered one of the internet thinking it would be the same (a size 2) which turned out to be the newer ones in the blue carrying case and i couldn't get it on my head at all!
Rang the supplier who told me that Gatehouse had changed the style and fitting of the hats and the sizing was different due to the shape of my head. I think my head is fairly oval... And that whatever size hat i am normally won't necessarily be the size I need in the newer hats.
None of my local tack shops have the newer hat so i can't try them on for size.

So does anyone who is normally a size 2/57/7 have a special edition Gatehouse HS1 and what size is it? Have you had to go up a size?

I had the same thing, my old Champion skull cap is a size 2, my friends tack shop then ordered me a size 2 HS1, it was miles too small & so they got me a 2 1/2, so it seems that the new ones in the blue bag are about 1/2 a size up on other hats, Sally said she had found this with other makes too, not just the Champion one. Good luck though, they are lovely comfy hats once you get one to fit!!
