Gatehouse HS1 Skull...

Been very lucky and got given one of these for my b'day present from my parents-obviously very concerned about my head and if they want to splash out £100 for a hat, I'm happy!

Anyway, it came via the post yesterday-but is tiny!
Ordered it in my normal size-58cm/2.5 as all other hats this size and I could hardly squeeze it on my obviously enormous head!
Do they come up quite small? I think I shall have to go up 2 sizes as I feel even a 3 will still be a tight fit and theres nothing worse than a hat headache!
Anyone got one, what do you think-how many sizes did you ahve to go up to?

Haven't tried the HS1 version, but did used to have a Gatehouse hat and had it in my normal size. The padding did settle down quite significantly after a short while and it became too big, so might be worth bearing that in mind?

Ive got one on hold till pay day ! but I had to go down half a size and it fits perfectly ! Go into a local tack shop that stocks them, try a few on then order the correct size from where yuo purchased your hat from.

Havent tried one, but my gatehouse is huge!

I bought a Champion skull at the weekend and my head is normally 6 7/8th but in the campion its 6 5/8th... whcih i was chuffed about as saved me nearly £20

I had one (until I fell off and landed on my head!!), it wasn't the most comfortable hat I've owned but I think I may just have an odd shaped head, it was a bit too round (!?!) and felt like it was squeezing my brain out thorugh my ears at times!! Very happy with a Charles Owen now!

I've got one, because you have to order it in (shops don't tend to stock them) I went to my local saddlery. They do stock other Gatehouse hats and they recommended that I try one of them on for fit first before ordering the HS1.

Could you see if there are any local stockists of standard Gatehouse skull caps that you could try for size?
