Gatehouse HS1 - Surrey people please

Well the time has come to set me and Indies next 6 month challenge and having now managed to jump up to 3ft with her at home, we are off to the local show at the weekend to do some clear round jumping and if all goes well, our next challenge will be having a training session at the local cross country course.

The thing is, I'm pretty sure I can't wear my traditional hat round a XC course (correct me if i'm wrong!) so I have decided to invest in an HS1 jockey skull as all the reviews seem pretty impressive and at the end of the day, it's worth the money if it's going to protect my head

but the problem is I can't seem to find anywhere local that stocks them, and I really wouldn't feel comfortable spending all that money without having it properly fitted.

So, my question is, does anyone know anywhere in surrey that stocks these hats?

I drove to frogpool to get mine, can't think of any local shops that stock them.

Buttons sell them if you are Woking/Guildford way?

Just make sure you try one on, rather than mail order, my local tack shop does them near J17 of M25 if that's not too far for you, depends on where in Surrey you are, but I tried one on and looked like a mushroom head and didn't find it at all comfortable!

I have a Charles Owen J3 at the moment which I could live in all day but needs updating so was also looking at the Champion Ventair which seemed more comfortable for my head shape.

I have a velvet Charles Owen XP for showing (used it twice) and I hate it I had it on for 10 mins on Sunday and couldn't wait to get the damn thing off my head as it was pressing into my temples and giving me an awful headache, bit P*&&ed off about it as it wasn't cheap and I had it fitted in a saddlers, so make sure you wear the hat for quite a while, walk round the shop, even if you do feel daft as it's and expensive mistake if you get it wrong!

Thanks everyone! I'm near to guildford so sounds like Buttons is my best shot, though I do try to avoid them after the last hat buying fiasco! lol!

I currently have a charles owen showjumper XP and LOVE it sooo much, very very comfy! Originally did look at the champion ventair but found that to be too tight on my temples

which was a shame.

So fingers crossed the HS1 fits perfectly
