Hi

Has anyone had any issues before with trying to get in touch with Gavin? I'm looking for a quote for transport but cannot get through to him?

Thanks

I really struggled too, in the end I sent him a Facebook message which he responded to very quickly, I know he is all over the place and due to his driving patterns through the night etc can't always get his phone, I was really pleased with his service, and my pony arrived in NE Scotland from Malvern like he had just been ten minutes round the corner. Got updates on his journey and was v reasonable price wise.

I have just had a bad experience with him so wouldn't recommend him at all. Sorry. Said pony was picked up at 1am just outside of Wales, arrived with me at 7pm at night having not had his travel boots or tail wrap removed and supposedly staying overnight somewhere near Penrith. He was also soaking wet due to them losing the sky light/ventilation do da above him on a tree. Getting hold of them and getting information out of them was an absolute nightmare. I wouldn't use them again.

Eeeekkk EKW that sounds terrible!!!

Thanks for both your replies, just really frustrating when you can't get ahold of someone! Think I'll just use gillies again, was trying to see difference in price!

Our horse was booked in with him let down badly by no contact or even an apology we have heard since that he has went bankrupt and lorry repossessed , went with him as 30 pounds cheaper than another , now realised that pay peanuts get monkeys.

I have only once used Gavin, but my mum used him a couple of times too. I thought he was a lovely man, reasonably priced with a lovely lorry and very good with the horses. We were both really pleased with his service and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Unfortunately we suffered as did our horse and having to change yards at short notice so couldn't possibly reccommend him so un professional still won't reply to messages.

My riding club uses Gavin for the trip from Aberdeenshire to BRC Nationals at Lincoln. Had no problems but we do fill the whole lorry so it is all ours for the weekend. I've personally used Gillies when transporting a new horse up from England and they are great. Very professional.
