I am a barefooter of nearly two decades and enjoy seeing the posts of track liveries and pinching some ideas for my own place. I don’t think they’re for every horse/owner, though I can see they would be a lifesaver for metabolic and massively overweight horses. I compromise with an in/out barn system with free access to grass and forage.
I follow GTL but there seems to be quite a lot of explosive, instant reaction to what other people say about their approach. At times like these, I think the phrase ‘what other people think of me is none of my business’ is quite helpful. If you’re confident in what you’re doing, then let other people tread their track and you tread yours. ‘Scuse the pun! I hope everyone involved there is okay and has help with finding better ways of coping in the future. Horses are hard, the internet is hard, the two combined are seriously tough.
