Gel in or get out (Acavallo)

As title really. I need to get a gel pad, as I'm suffering with my lower back, and hip. He's not naughty or big moving, although he is a bit bouncy. I showjump and hack, and may do lower level be next year.
Does anyone know the advantage of the gel in over the gel out?

I love my gel out. Don't find it restrictive. If i need more grip i wear with suedy breeches.

I prefer the Gel in. I find the Gel out too sticky.

I love my Gel out. I don't feel restricted at all, but I do feel it gives a bit extra grip when my pony is being ridiculous on fun rides or when riding XC! However I know some people hate them but swear by the Gel in. I would borrow one to try (if possible) and see how you feel. They are definitely a bit like marmite

Didn't like my gel out, felt clammy in summer. Also didn't like how clips into gullet.
