Just wondered if anyone uses them....

what brand you use?
how much they are?
where have you got them from?
if you only use on the forelegs ?
and if they have had any effect??

i use horse trax pads ( http://www.impactgel.com/equine/horseshoePads.asp) at about £22 a pair including vat and postage on my boys very flat and sensitive front feet. i get them from Total foot protection ( www.tfp.uk.com )

I have used them for the last 4 years and keeps my otherwise "lame" horse sound and extreamly comfortable. they are the only type of gel pads that I actually rate as the equipak stuff was very expensive and lasted 2 weeks as apposed to these pads that I get about 12 weeks out of!

I use prolite leg pads under my stable bandages, they are about 15 million years old but think they were £25 for set of 4. they are brill, they wash and dry in no time.

we used to use gel-eze pads under exercise bandages for the hunters, as we were getting them fit after all summer off. we did notice that any horse that had had tendon problems stayed sound and we saw less recurrence of tendon problems. plus the gel-eze didn't slip or slide around.

Not sure if you're asking about gel pads under shoes? If so, my very flat footed TB had Equithane pads under his front shoes for a while, seemed to do some good, although they didn't seem to stay in very long.
