Afew question for you!!

Do you use one?
If yes why use one?
If yes what kind of gel pad do you use?

I have a stephens sheepskin half pad, with get inserts. I think its too think, and my saddle seems to slip with it. Hence the post, want to get another.

Thanks.

I have one and use it esp when jumping as it absorbs impact, my saddle was fitted with it / thick polypad. Not sure of the name now its fadded had it years but its the conventional dome one, goes inside competition saddle cloth to look smart too

I now have one too - thanks to you

Still has lumps but no new ones, how do I get rid of the old ones?

Do you have the gel eze one thats clear, with holes in? I was thinking of getting one of those as they seem to be the thinest?

Thanks.

I don't use one at all anymore but used one on previous two mares, on Esme as her saddle was fitted with it when I got her and with Megan because she was sensitive across her back and the physio recommeded using one.

I used the prolite and the Equigel- I preferred the Equigel as they are more pliable so they sit better.

I am using a half pad on Baileys jumping saddle at the moment until the saddler comes out to check it but I really don't like it- I feel miles off his back and the saddle feels like it may roll

Daft question but do they go between saddle and numnah?

I have got a prolight one, but i am not sure if its not a standard one. Its thicker on at the front, like a riser pad. It also seems abit thick, and ridgid? However i didnt buy it, livery left it behind.

Put mine onto horse then the saddle cloth then the saddle. When they lose their stickyness I just wash mine in some soapy water.

There is a product on the market that might be of use to you - my brother is a supplier . It is called ThinLine. The pads are very shock absorbant, non slip, and very thin.

Here is a link - if you want any more info - pm me and I can tell you more :-)

*cough* I wouldnt personally buy if from Saddlery4U as I personally have experienced issues with them, so would sooner stick my head in a bush full of angry wasps than buy from them ......

I have the first one, I think it is slightly thinnner and a bit cheaper.

These sell them too
