The lovely 'Lovington Maestro' who won Novice Hackney Pony Championship at Royal Windsor in 2010 moved in next to my 20 year old connemara yesterday and they took an instant dislike to each other. Not sure what to do as I could swap my mare and gelding over, but should I give them more time to settle? We are in loddon stables so they can see each other through the bars.

What is unsavoury about "instant dislike", They are animals. Whilst i might not have given the animals name, i cannot see anything unsavoury in the post.

OP unless they look like they are going to give each other an injury or disrupting other horses lives let them sort it out, what happens if your mare doesnt get on with the other horse either.

I had this when I moved yards a year ago. My gelding & gelding in stable next to him loathed each other from 1st sight! The other one kicked through the partition(mine was winding him up) We completely blocked the barred partition between them & solved the problem instantly. They still cannot stand the sight if each other though & recently I gut the 1st few bars on the front if the stable blocked off as well as if the other one dared to look over his door mine would fly at him, teeth gnashing! Not really got any option of swapping with anyone but perfectly happy if they don't have to see each other!

What's unsavoury about saying someone else's horse is lovely and a champion?.. OP why don't you ask the owners if they think it would be best to swap your gelding & mare round or if they think things will settle with time. Unfortunately some horses just do not get on no matter how long you give them.

YOU are the one who was in intensive care and slipping away with a 'friend' updating...you are the liar and troll, ANYTHING you post whilst you deny who you are should be taken as complete fabrication.
