Gelding mounted my mare this morning!

My old gelding could simply not be left with mares at all.

He would literally run them into a corner and then ravish them.

He was the sweetest horse in the world apart from this "UGG" tendancies;-(
 
I have had this problem this year. Moved to a new yard, a lot smaller with only 3 other horses all in together, one being a gelding (poor boy in with 3 mares :rolleyes:)
Not long after, we caught them at it! She would reverse up to him, bend down and not leave him alone until he did the deed! We were all absolutely gob smacked baring in mind she is a 16.3hh tb, he is a 14.2 irish cob..... :o

We left them to it for about a week, then I decided that it really couldn't be doing her back any good so I bought some Oestress for her which seems to have solved the problem! :D
 
My boy mounts mares but only if they are really tartish and shove their bums in his face . . . There's two mares out in his field and he only ever does it to the one that is a tart! But saying that this time that mare has come in season she has all the geldings going!
