On Monday I went up to use the menage at my local livery yard, and one of the mares was making serious goggle eyes at my boy, stood by the menage fence the whole time, hanging her head over and trying to make friends. Did our best to ignore her but she was doing it for the whole hour of my lesson.

Went up last night and she was there again, only this time spraying wee, winking, rubbing her bum up against the gate, and making really strange noises. My boy was so scared of her that he wouldn't go within a 10m radius of her!! I had to abandon my dressage practice cos whereever she was he wouldn't go near!!

Anyone else had that? Very scary in season mare!!
Slightly pointless post, sorry!

Sorry, but teeeheee. He sounds a bit like my husband when I'm around!!!! Mwahahaha!

Poor boy. Being exposed to a member of the opposite sex who is wayyyy too oversexed, is never good, and he probably feels very intimidated byher advances!

I would try to ask if you can move that mare while you have a lesson. I've been places where there are paddocks next to the school and the horses hang their heads over the fence, and it's really distracting and can even be dangerous.
