General Anaesthetic on horse with shivers?

Just wondered if anyone has any experience of a horse with shivers undergoing a general anaesthetic? My much loved 18yr old TB has been diagnosed with a massive fluid filled sinus cyst that will require a GA to remove. I am sure I read somewhere that G.A. is not recommended for horses with shivers?
Any info/comments gratefully received!

Beau is a shiver and had a ga for a foot op recently and it all went well. I havnt heard not ga a shiver?? Not unless there is a bigger risk of a broken bones?? Have you ask your vet?? I wrote down all the question I thought of poor vet two pages long!! I do love my vets!! Hope it all goes well.
