*Gentle Hugs* for Madhector...

Poor MH. Naughty young horse  Lots of healing vibes from us here in Bury. Hopefully they'll be potent as they don't have to travel too far.

And take care of yourself as well. That must have been scary as hell.

Thank you :) just with MH she was really touched by all your comments.

Good news is that she is fitted with a back brace and managed to get out of bed, so hopefully If her x ray is ok I can take her home today :)

Hope x-ray is ok so she can come home. I fractured L1 & L2 last yr & am absolutely fine now. It was 12 weeks to the day before I got back on a horse for a gentle walk & it took about 6 months before I felt the core muscles were back to where they were before the injury.

I didn't realise how much they weakened by not being used with 8 weeks in a back brace. I am close to 50 so I'me sure a younger fitter person wouldn't lose as much strength.

Good physio helped. Back is occasionally a bit stiff but that's old age I think rather than any after effects from the injury.

One of those grabber sticks was really useful as was a perching stool to put by the bath so I could lean over to have my hair washed. I also had a raised loo seat which helped as well. All were provided by the NHS.

It wasn't a pleasant time but worth taking things easy to allow the healing to take place properly.

V gentle hugs x
