George is fading away ?????

I glanced down today and noticed that George has a waist ? (which is more than I do ?)

I’m a bit concerned the little lad is fading away now so he had a bit extra today!

I don’t think you need to panic just yet. He looks in lovely condition and my vet said in a slightly patronising tone to me once that dogs are supposed to have a waist.

His coat is lovely now I have to say, it feels really silky and nice! George used it as an excuse to steal some of my lunch of course, I’ve never known a dog that prefers human food to dog food as much as he does

I was genuinely very surprised when I saw his ‘waist’ today...I swear that has been since his horrible experience with the hot cross buns ? Luckily ? George ate quite a lot of the pasta I had cooked myself for lunch.... it is undoubtedly difficult, he has a huge spring of rib so he tends to always look fat, I hate fat dogs, but there is no way in the world
I would ask George to go without ?? I think he has had plenty to maintain his body image today, and that’s how I intend to maintain it ??

He's very like our Hector who also has a huge rib cage both wide and deep so always looks round even if he isn't, poor boy. George is looking great!

George looks great with a visible waist, but a little tired in the second picture. Almost as if the lack of proper portions of pasta is making him feel weak.

Oh FL ??? You make me feel guilty even though I know perfectly well you are joking ????

I have worked out the proportion of body weight that George ate in pasta compared to me today and I am happy he had sufficient maintenance quantities ???

I know everyone is being lovely and joking, of course I do, but I’ll also keep monitoring the small one and make sure he is OK ?

I was indeed joking, but his look in the second picture makes me feel guilty, and he's not even my dog!

But to be honest, I don't know where I get the restraint from with my own dogs. Part of me wants to give them everything edible in the house, until they where rolling around like dog shaped balls of fat, but I know that keeping them in good condition is what is best for them.

Mine told me that my speyed JRT had lost her waist "like many menopausal women" whilst looking directly into my eyes!!!! I've always felt he was trying to tell me something!!
