You may have read my post about George suffering with hind leg lameness and he has been in the vets since tuesday having it investigated. I had a long chat with the vet yesterday and thankfully it isn't bad news :)

An x-ray and scan of his hind fetlocks showed some low grade joint damage a small sesamoid bone chip in one fetlock, but the bone chip is small and rounded and the vet thinks it may of been there a while. This chip has also caused some minor damage to the lower branch of his suspensory which again could be old. Of course whilst at the vets George came sound, so we don't know if this is what was causing the lameness or something else that has now resolved itself!

The vet doesn't feel the chip needs removing (but he is going to check with a surgeon) and feel the damage to the suspensory is too minor to need treating. He is however injecting both of George's hind fetlocks with corticosteroids & HA this morning to ease any inflammation.

The vet is advising another week off and then slowly bringing back into work, see how he is and take it from there, so fingers crossed all will be well.

I am going to collect him this afternoon and can't wait to see him :) apparently he has been very good and a model patient :D

That sounds like good news. Thank you for the update - I was thinking of you yest eve & wondering how you were getting on.

Im another who has been checking in for news. So pleased George has had positive news and he is very lucky to have you looking after him. Bet he gets spoiled rotten whilst on the easy list. So pleased for you both, its nice to have a definitive answer.

Glad you are seeing some progress and hopefully the injections will make him a lot more comfy. Good luck for a full recovery :)
