Stanley, our border terrier has spent lots of time with my daughter's Viz and George is a regular visitor. George is beautifully trained and a pleasure to have around but he is just so "needy". Stanley is a typical terrier, he thinks he's bigger than he is and is quite a jealous little dog tbh he's a bit of a bully! It is just like having kids again. George comes in whining because Stan has his ball, I give him another ball and 30 secs later he's back again because now Stan has both balls. George comes in whining because Stan won't let him sit on the sofa, so I settle George in my chair and he's back 30 secs later because Stan is now sitting in my chair! Honestly, it's hilarious, there's never any real nastiness, one look from Stan and George is at my side with his "Grandma, Grandma he's being mean to me" look. On walks they are fine, play nicely and are good friends. It's just on Stan's territory! Anyone else have a terrier with a "big man" syndrome? (not asking for advice, it's all fine but Stan will be worn out when George goes home at the weekend)

Not a terrier, but a Bichon. She’s a complete delight with other dogs out and about and in the house. But absolutely will not share toys - so toys unfortunately have to be put away when we have another dog here.

Yes I had a Patterdale and a JRT that were both obnoxious to the larger dogs in the house. They both ruled with an iron grip lol!

We now have similar playtime antics with the two labs, one is very much a 'lets just pick up a ball or toy and lazily saunter around wagging my tale' sort of playmate. The other is a quick as lightening 'nah! Let me grab it right out of your mouth, you go and find another one then I will grab that too'! type of playmate! The 'lazy ambling around happy just to carry the ball one' then comes to me literally moaning and whining when the other little gutter snipe has ended up laying in one of their beds with EVERY dog toy in the house collected up.☺

I don't know why on earth the big dopey one doesn't just barge her way in and take them back. But then they get on so well together, I guess if she did things might escalate so perhaps its for the best. 🤷‍♀️ 😂

We have a 9yr old Viz and 5yr old terrier - who rules the house! They've been together since we got the terrier at 3 months, but she wants whatever the Vizsla has, the Vizsla is so good natured that she just lets the terrier get on with it, but does come to us to complain that the terrier is in her bed or has her toy

We have three terriers and the eldest often takes toys from the youngest. The middle one doesn't "do" toys but has his spot to lie in and if one of the others lies there he rushed to the door asking to get out, the other two immediately follow suit and run to the door; he then runs back to reclaim his now vacant spot and lies looking smug!

Oh yes, I currently have a SERIOUSLY nose-out-of-joint terrier because the new puppy is lying on "his" bed. She's very sweet and has now relocated from one to the other of 3 beds, all of which are apparently "his".
