Just heartbreaking. I was there watching today and left the water jump what can only be minutes before this happened.
Thoughts are with her family and everybody involved
I'm local to the area and know that particular fence. Such an awful thing to happen and totally horrendous for everyone involved with Bicton especially people like the course builder and the fence judges. But no-one should feel guilty, eventing as we all know is a highly risky sport and this sounds like one of those awful freak accidents that sadly do happen occasionally.
Poor lass, she didn't deserve this. Condolences to her family and friends, and inner circle of people like Grooms & staff who will all be hugely affected by this tragedy.
I’ve just seen on Twitter than the Daily Fail has got this as front page news tomorrow. I feel sick…. although not surprised as they are total gutter scum…..
It is of course very sad particularly for those that are left. She did know the risks though and died, hopefully very quickly, doing the thing she probably loved most in the world and I think we should remember that.
So absolutely heartbreaking for her family, friends and the eventing community. I feel especially for her husband Jesse and hope he somehow finds the strength to keep going, having your job/passion also be how you lost your partner must be horrendous.
So so sorry for Georgie's family and friends
How Jesse can come to terms with this and when his livelihood depends on doing the same job is just unimaginable
Having witnessed Jonty Evans' fall at Tatts some years ago, and knowing many of the organising team there and the impact that had on everyone, with what ended up being a better outcome, I just feel so sorry for Helen West and the Bicton team and everyone who witnessed this too. We all know it is a risk of our sport but hope it will never happen.
RIP Georgie xx
Absolutely horrific news. Devastating for the family. I hope they get the peace they need to grieve, and that there will be a full enquiry. We all know it’s a risk of eventing but it’s unthinkable when it happens.
