Henry is not picking up:( Am taking him to see the vets tonight after work. He is still having the runs a bit, and is definately subdued today:(

I'm really scared that I've given him something to make him ill:( I'm so stupid:(

I hope he's ok, it surely can't be the apricots from Saturday as he didn't have that many! I cracked an egg over his dinner on Saturday but it's nowhere near bad enough to be salmonella. He passed some bits of twig on Mobday, but he is not bloated or tender and is still passing faeces so I don't think it's a blockage.

He has had small amounts of his normal food today and nothing has come out the other end yet, but he is just quieter than normal.

His breathing and heart rate is normal and his mucous membranes and gums are a normal colour.

He's just not himself. And I hate it:(

Don't panic! Otto had a chronic upset tum ages ago, it kept clearing up for a day and then coming back - for no reason we could think of! He was quiet, cold and had a raised temp so we trotted off to the Vets, 4 days of antibiotics, chicken and rice and Pro-kaolin later and he was right as rain!

Aw he will be ok spud, try not to worry to much. 2 of mine have had bad bellies fairly recently, it's the time of year for bugs and viruses. I'm sure he will pick up soon. Good luck at the vets, big hug to you and Henry x

Since he has had an upset tummy, maybe he's a little dehydrated and that is why he's not himself? As the others have said, it is the time of the year for bugs and viruses, add his bad tummy to that and it might not be anything that strange causing it.

{{{Fingers crossed}}} for Henry and {{{Hugs}}} to you.

Get well vibes to Henry, and hugs to you. I know its easier said than done but try not to worry, probably just a bit of a bug he's picked up. A friend and I were having a discussion the other day about worrying about our pets, and came to the conclusion that we worry ourselves stupid about things that our dogs have, and yet if we ourselves had the same symptoms we would just get on with it and ignore them.

That's exactly right:o

Thanks guys:)

Indeed MM, C was saying something similar after a big group of us sat around debating raw vs dry food on Sunday for about an hour, he said "We never spend this time talking about what we feed ourselves!"

Just back from the vets, got Pro-Kolin and he's back on rice and chicken so just cooking some up (meaning I have no pans or hob space to cook any food for myself, but never mind:rolleyes:) Vet says not to worry and that it's almost certainly something he's eaten:)

Thanks for the vibes guys:)

Oh yum yum chicken and rice for tea - what time do you want us round and can I have some vege with mine please?

Hope Henry is soon feeling back to normal, and you get some supper too!

JDx

Hope he's soon on the mend. Ditto about cooking the chicken in the microwave, would clear up hob space to feed yourself. Of course you could always have chicken and rice too.:)

A microwave? Perish the thought, I have No Truck with such Modern Fripperies:mad:

OK, OK, I have nowhere to put one and I'm too stingy to buy one anyway:p:D

LOL You jest but I despise microwaves and refused for years to have one in the house, now we have one, but its only for defrosting the dogs tripe and I won't allow it in the actual house it's in the garage!
I'm only 25 before anyone says anything! :p :D
Although Spudlet it was very cheap, its a cheap asda one I think, or maybe some other homebrand from another supermarket!

lol I shall forgive you your transgression then:D

If I had a garage that's where I'd put one, but I don't - at some point I am going to have a major Spring clean and restructuring of the house, then I might be able to make room!

He had another accident in his crate, which was a delightful start to the day:( But he does seem a bit chirpier this morning:) New bedding for him once he's better - his current bed wouldn't fit in my washing machine so I'm sponge cleaning it and I'll be buying one with a removable cover this weekend! So much for cutting down the overdraft this month:rolleyes:
