Getting a puppy - but can't decide on a breed?!

I have recently got a Wire-haired Minature Dachshund and he is one of the best dogs i have ever had:) he's friendly towards anyone and layed back around horses and other animals even though he's so small.Even though he's a small dog he can walk for miles and keep up with my other big dog,i would recommend to anyone getting this breedd!

My OH loves the look of huskies and when we were looking for a dog were really tempted by the Finnish lapphund (there's a breeder local to us from google research) - we ended up with a sausage dog cross and a chihuahua (don't ask) lol but I remember doing my research an thinking a lapphund would be a nice option as smaller than husky and generally more 'average dog' than a husky or something else quite wolfy!

I imagine though if you get a puppy it'll most likely adapt in to your lifestyle with a bit of care fairly easily regardless of breed - ours did! The chi even comes for walks whilst I'm hacking - only occassionally is he passed up to ride up on the pommel for the last mile or so, he's quite the trooper!! :)

Once I persuaded my hubby to agree to a dog we got a Cocker spaniel x poodle puppy, what a dog! No hair shedding..so easy to train as poodles are the second most intelligent dog after collies. He was so easy to toilet train was pretty much trained when we got him at 10weeks and very few accidents. Just the right size. So so affectionate and kind, loves everyone and everything not a bad bone in his body, not aggressive bit of a wimp really but great fun. Not too hectic and he is very sweet looking with a gorgeous curly coat. He is fine and careful with the horses and has just started on hacks off the lead with a more experienced dog, he is perfect, stays to the side and back of us but not to near their feet and watches me to check what he should be doing the whole time. Could not recommend these little dogs highly enough, they are popular for good reason.
