Ive recently found out im pregnant after previous pregnancy complications im weary about riding. I have a fantastic horse who is a saint. im not sure what to do. He is very precious to me and is ready to do BE/BSJA and needs a talented rider. He is just 8 years old. I couldnt bare to sell him but worry about finding a suitable sharer/rider. Am i just being picky?Or should i turn him away for 8 months or so?Opinons would be great. What did you do?

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

If I could find someone I trusted I would find a sharer. There are capable riders out there who, for whatever reason haven't got their own horse and would jump at the chance of a share.

Good luck whatever you decide.

Have you tried looking for/advertising for a sharer yet? You could see what kind of response you get and then decide - just because you advertise for a sharer doesn't mean you have to settle for any old person - you can be as picky as you like!! And bear in mind that you can have them come and ride a fair few times before deciding if they are right for you and your horse. Just out of interest, whereabouts are you based?

I'm sure you'll find someone no problem at all - there are plenty of good riders out there who cannot afford or have the time for their own horse at the moment.

You can afford to be fussy - why not advertise and see what happens!

Thankyou for your replies. I just want to check my scans ok before i advertise. I worry that sometimes people say their experienced and their not. If i could find the right person id be happy for them to compete and do whatever they wanted really its just finding the right person. I am in Devon. If any of you guys know of anyone suitable let me know. Thanks
