Ok so it's not really set in stone yet, but it all looks as though I may need to get another sharer in to take over some or even all of the work my sister does as she has near enough lost interest. Now I am doing research into what I am looking for/how much to charge etc etc etc but I thought maybe a thread here for people to give me some advice would be my best bet...
Pony currently lives on private DIY yard with great hacking and sand school. It's just us two owners that basically rent it off the non-horsey landowner who lives on site(and our two horses) so it's very quiet with obviously excellent access to facilities! Sister currently chips in £125pcm to do weekends, and also has dibs on him when she has a weekly riding lesson. I've also been perfectly happy in her riding on other days when I can't, though this isn't often.
She now just wants her lesson, with the opportunity to ride once or maybe twice sometime each week instead. Therefore I would need a sharer to cover at least one day/poss the entire weekend inc horsey jobs. I am perfectly happy to offer the sharer a chance to come up during the week to ride with me(no work neccessary, fellow livery and I can take care of the weekdays)
Would it be unrealistic to ask something like £20pw of sharer and same off my sister? The money my sister currently chips in is a great help, while I could afford it all alone I would go back to being in the same position as I was 2 months ago in my last job(where I was on less money!).
I would be more than happy for sharer to come and visit during the week, even to help me bath him/generally give him lots of love and fuss/spend time with him/ride with me. And even to come along to shows and enter. While the money is a huge help I want him to just be fussed over and have someone who is as committed to being his Mummy #2 It's just the weekends where they would need to be up early feeding/mucking out etc. Pony is out 24/7 in the summer. And jobs can be shared with fellow livery also.
Also any general advice/success stories would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
