Getting a yellow tail white... help!!

Friend is having her horse at her wedding tomorrow. scrubbed her Wednesday and got the worst of the grott out but her lovely long tail is yellow from halfway down.

What can I use for tonights bathing session to get it and her sparkling white?! Preferably something i can pick up easily as going straight there and not past any horse places to get anything special.

I know there was a thread a while ago but i can't find it!!

I tried washing powder mixed with a bit of water to make a paste a couple of times. Wet the tail and rub the paste in and then scrub it!

If that fails, I've heard net curtain whitener works wonders too!!

Just make sure you don't get any on her skin as it may cause an allergic reaction

I've used Touch of Silver shampoo for old ladies on white legs. It's purple and you rub it in and lather it up until all the purple has disappeared and keep on lathering for a few more minutes then leave for 5 minutes. Wash off and you need sunglasses for the glare.

Vanish - make a paste, work it into tail (not in the dock), leave for five minutes, rinse . . . then use a conditioning blue-tinged shampoo (love Supreme Products) . . . it will always look a little yellowy when wet but should dry white.

I use a cup of daz powder in a bucket of warm water then diamond white shampoo. I have heard that denture tablets are very good too.

Any blue shampoo. I've used the blue Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo before and that worked well but needed a couple of goes.

Cheap blue washing liquid

Someone recently said, Baby shampoo mixed with purple spray works well.

Touch of Silver shampoo (you can buy it in Boots) works really well on my grey's yellow tail. I normally wash once with normal shampoo (sometimes fairy liquid) in WARM water (gets the grot off much better) and then wash again with ToS. My grey is often beige and really grubby, so if it works on her it will work on anything!

Denture tablets.

Seriously.

I dump about 8 or 10 in half a bucket of really hot water, add just enough cold to make it safe, stuff as much tail as I can in the bucket (not as far as the dock, obviously) and soak for about 10 minutes or until my arms really ache from holding the bucket. Apply lots and lots of conditioner. Rinse.

It's incredible, I've never seen a tail so white!!
