We have always had 2 dogs .Currently one Irish setter and one Irish red and white setter .The Irish red is 10 and a half the red and white 10
The are social get on with other dogs love people neither have any hang ups and get on really well with each other
The ref and white was diagnosed with cardiac heart failure in February. He is now settled on a concoction of medication and enjoying a good life If you look up his concoction of drugs the statistics show them as highly effective .
They forecast a life expectancy of up to 3 years though could be less as some only do 1 year so a bit how long is a piece of string!!
The question is the breeder of my Irish red setter has puppies due 30/8 it will be related to the current Red.
Would it be wise to get a puppy (would be available end October as otherdogs love playing and running around and a new puppy would cause great excitement (in a good way.
Would this stress be ok for a dog with CHF if we meet up with other dogs it's only for a short time this would be all the timeI don't want to put added strain on him at his age.
We are retired and live on a large small holding so not problems with exercise and training.
Don't want to cause him stress in his senior years.
