Hi.
The time has come to give my old boy some extra support and just wondered if people generally get regular orders of bute from the vet or get a prescription and buy on line?
If on line, which are the best (and worst) websites to go with?
Thanks in advance :)

In the past I have gotten a prescription and ordered from Viovet online. They charge less than half of what my local vet does and their service is quick and reliable. 100% recommend Viovet.

My vets do a price match, so I just email them with a screenshot of the cheapest online price and they do it for the same. (sometimes add the prescription charge sometimes not).
What a great idea, wish mine done that. I might actually ask them if they will do it, don't know until you ask right!
My vet wants to charge £163 for a box or £27 for a prescription so I guess I have my answer, just got to find a good on line supplier now.

Mine don’t advertise that they do it, but when i asked for a prescription because it was double the online price, they said they have “bread and butter meds” that they price match. I also get Prascend like this.

I was getting price matched bute from my vets on prescription for my horse. It meant I'd go on line, find the cheapest bute, ring the vets, the receptionist would then go on line to verify the price and then price match.

The prescription was around £18 and lasted 6 months, during that time i could buy two boxes worth. They charged £1.15 a sachet of bute, I was getting it for 73p a sachet this way if I bought 2 boxes of 100 within the 6 month timeframe.

See if your vets will price match. I knew nothing of this until I visited Your Hirse Luve and found the e-vet stand. After speaking to them i approached my vet who then confirmed "oh yes we can price match".

I just wish I'd been aware of that years ago. But if course they won't tell you as its lost revenue.

In that case I am definitely going to ask. Even if they match the on line cost and prescription I would do it.
Thanks for the tip, I will let you know if they agree to it :)

Funny how they don't advertise it! I'm definitely going to ask them.
