Has anyone else, through owning/looking after a horse, developed a knack for getting changed in strange places?!

I go straight from work to the yard and have got changed in my stable (did get straw stuck in my jods), in my car whilst parked in the yard car park (trying not to flash my knickers at everyone walking past), in a public car park outside work, in the loos at work, in my boyfriend's car while he's driving...

In the winter I go in the mornings wearing my work clothes, and then stck waterproof trousers and a coat over the top, and then wriggle out of the waterproofs in my car!

Does anyone else get changed in odd places?! Or am I just a weirdo?

nope i do it too, but even weirder, last night i didnt bother to change at all and jumped on with work skirt on (wind blowing to reveal nearly all) and work boots. looked a right sight apparently! today ive made sure ive come to work in trousers at the very least - i dont normally wear such stupid ensemble but if my boy is ready to rock and roll with oh, why waste time changing! and yes before i get shouted at, I ALWAYS WEAR A HAT

Done all that in the past. Now I just get changed once or twice a week at work in the bathroom before leaving off so I can at least start my ride in the daylight.

Thing is that short bolt from the bathroom through the office to my car is causing something of a stir amongst some of my colleagues.

Since most of them are fashionista's you'd think Jodhpurs would be mild compared to what they wear but apparently it's different

Am glad i leave my long boots at the yard!

Yep, always getting changed in odd places, car, stable, work, middle of a field...depends on the weather really and how much of a rush I'm in!

Yup ...... before the horses were at home they were on DIY so used to do them on the way to work - leave house in 'horsey clothes' sort the boys out and then change in one of the stables......

But queing up at the coffee machine at work one day (very smart offices) - the person behind me pulled some hay out of my hair (try explaining that to non horsey folk!) - I had to then make a mental note to check how I looked in the car mirror before running (as always late) into the office... Gave them all a laugh though!!

i always get dressed in car/field/stable!! always wear hotpants (pri-marks finest!!) so not too scary if anyone happens to walk up the public footpath along the side of my field LOL!!

Slight variation on the theme, but I love doing the late night hay run in my wellies and jim jams, sometimes (when the girls are living out) if I am going to have a lazy sunday morning breakfast in bed I go out and give them their breakfast in my nightie and wellies - It feels very weird when its windy! My neighbour who look out onto the paddock probably think I am weird too.

Its also odd doing the late night check after a late night out on the razz - the ponios look at ypu with such disaproval, aand as for trying to skip out in high heeled shoes!

I get changed in the evenings in either spooks stable or in my car - but in the mornings, i wear waterproofs over my work clothes, and i dont bother to unlock the gate to drive in, just park by the side of the road, then when i am finished, just swap coat over and take off waterproof trousers - which always gets some really odd looks from the Marines when they march past - can almost see the shock on their faces as the strange woman pulls her trousers down in the middle of a country lane!!

Not quite horses but.......................................
Didn't think we could make it down to my cousin's registry office wedding, at last minute, went by train; travelled in jeans as "I'll change in the loos right by the registry" (bear in mind this is my old home town, know it like the back of my hand but hadn't been home for a bit) Imagine my horror to find the 'lovely old tiled and looked after by an old dear loos' demolished and replaced by one of those 'space type' ones with the sliding door and on a timer! Never changed so fast in my life and looked a real sight when I came out; OH was in stitches!

[/ QUOTE ] Yes, I have done, and continue to do all of the above! with the exception of the boyfriend's car - haven't got a boyfriend

Well, I think my husband of 28 years may object

I do all that to lol. The worse one i did was at a show once i got changed in the living but forgot to pull the curtians shut as i was late for my class and was rushing. As i turn round - just in my underwear i face the window and see a bloke looking in - oopps his face was a picture and i am sure mine was to!

MAGICMILLBROOK - did you see my post the other week - mucking out in kitten heels? i tried it "to save time" and thought i had cleaned them BUT all day in the office i kept getting a whiff of "stuff"!! gross. In reply to the others, I too have had many occasions of straw or hay being pulled out of my hair, very embarrassing. I used to be so fussy/sparkly/perfectly preened for work before getting the boy!

Oh, I regularly nip into phoe boxes to change before whizzing off......... superman!!! *snigger*

there's always one isn't there Donkeymad?!

One of the directors at work came up to me a while ago to inform me there was rather a lot of straw on the floor in the ladies loos...guess who'd got changed in there that morning after mucking out?!

In the mornings I put chaps and jacket over my work clothes and strip off in the driveway, change my shoes and jump in the car to go to work. After work I get changed in the yard car park, trying to hide between my doors or behind my car, in the feed room, tack room or stable!! I'm not proud now!!

I don’t change I just go to work in my jods and wellies, and I’m not joking and I don’t work with horses, however do work where the neds are kept.

Changed in the trailer quite a few times at shows though, it’s really fun trying not to stand in the poo that’s usually left in the back from the journey there.
