I really need to find two horses new homes.

Ive advertised on lots of sites, im not asking stupid money.
Ive had hardly any response and the ones i have got are silly time wasters or people that dont have the first clue.

Aaaaaah

pointless but wanted to say it!

That's really frustrating, but i think everyone is having the same problem with selling horses. I've had 2 offered to me for free in the last fortnight because their owners know i have some empty boxes at my yard and are struggling to sell them, but I just can't afford any more with the price of hay now!

Have you thought about turning them away for the winter and trying again in the spring?

I know, everyone is having trouble.

Ive thought about turning them away but dont like the idea of them being wasted, and i will feel guilty they are doing nothing and worry about them!

Also we may be moving house so the horses will have to move which makes it harder as i have a great set up know but not sure what i will find if we move.

That is awkward, you could try advertising for loan, or even approaching some of the equine colleges to give you some breathing space, but i'm sure you've already considered that and it's probably no easier.

I hope you get something sorted out

Thanks,i hope i do get something sorted.

Money isnt an issue, i just ant the best homes for them.

But who knows what "numpties" i would get if i advertised them for free, ive already had some idiots contact as they are advertised cheaply.

I have had exactly the same problem, I sold 2 youngsters this summer for only £250 each as I had to cut down, but vetted the homes as you do get idiots as soon as they are cheap or free. You could always try loan? Then you can rescue them if you think things are not going ok. Good luck, I still have another 2 to go as well.

Just turn them away if money isn't the issue - honestly, they will love it! I thought my horse and daughter's cob were completely addicted to their routine of coming in at night, cosy stable, ad lib hay, ridden in the morning and then out in field.

Last autumn I turned them out in a nearby field, and after a week they had gone feral on me! I turned up in the lorry to take them home for the weekend, and they were used to me going up with a small feed every day so they came over, but when they saw the lorry and headcollars they shot off with their tails in the air and ran to the far end of the field high blowing and horrified! It was great, I left them out for the winter and we all had a break.

Worth considering if all else fails - horses adapt very quickly to doing sod all I fear :)

Good luck to you too.

I will vet homes, i turned someone down the other day, stopped her from even looking when she told me where she would keep the horse.
When i told her i wouldnt let my horse go there she said "i dont know of any other yards".

The fact that she was happy to keep a horse there at all meant a total no from me and it she stupid? There are loads of great yards near by, just start looking!

i got an email from the people who want bailey saying they are just trying to sort out a yard for him so FINGERS CROSSED he will be going soon!!!! I really like the look of ellie so im def keeping the fingers tightly crossed!!!!!!!!!!! :)
